Modern Makkum

For years Royal Tichelaar Makkum ceramics have been known for their (very) traditional style. But in the past years they invited some contemporary designers to work on special projects and update the image of their ceramics.
One of those designers is Hella Jongerius:

One of the other projects is by Alexander van Slobbe, Pearls of Makkum.
I liked these from the beginning and some time ago my parents surprised me with a large black pearl! Maybe, some day, I will collect a few more to make a string of pearls like these...

But they also worked with designers like Studio Job, Marcel Wanders and Roderick Vos.
